Fleet management
Data-driven STILL forklift fleet management: know exactly how many hours each truck runs, who drives it and whether it has had impacts – so you run the right number of trucks.
When does a company need structured fleet management?
As a fleet grows, spreads across several buildings, includes different truck types and is shared by operators across shifts, notebooks and the hour meter on each truck are no longer enough. Typical questions:
- Which trucks are overworked, and which sit idle while still costing money?
- Who is driving which truck, and have they been instructed on that truck type?
- When, and on which truck, did impacts with racking, doors or goods happen?
- Are maintenance dates and documents for every truck fully tracked?
The STILL fleet management solution brings this information into one place so decisions are based on real figures. How to estimate fleet size and which indicators to track is covered in our article forklift fleet management.
Components of the STILL fleet management solution
On the truck: STILL FleetManager 4.x and connected hardware
FleetManager 4.x is an option on many STILL ranges and serves three purposes: operator management, impact detection and access control. On the STILL EXV-CB 06 – 16, web-based FleetManager shows who may use which truck and for which tasks, how its capacity is being utilised and when impacts happened. The hardware and Smart Fleet Management module of the STILL Smart Portal include:
- Access control: unlock the truck with a chip, a card (your company ID card can be used) or a PIN; only authorised people can start it.
- Shock Control: records impacts in real time and intervenes, for example by switching to creep speed.
- Pre-Shift Check: a digital truck check before every shift, with results stored.
- Operator profiles: several operating profiles on one truck shared across shifts.
For simpler needs, Digicode lets the truck start with a PIN, with up to ten codes for individuals or groups and no web platform required.
On the web: STILL neXXt fleet and Smart Portal
STILL neXXt fleet is a web portal that combines commercial, technical and truck data in a single database, accessed through a browser on a laptop, tablet or smartphone. Main apps:
- Fleet Overview: all trucks with their information and documents.
- Operating Hours: hours for every truck, with alerts when agreed limits are reached.
- Fleet Usage: actual utilisation, with alerts when it drops below set limits.
- Maintenance Control: maintenance and inspection dates with automatic reminders.
- Cost Reporting, KPI Monitor, Truck Life Analysis: costs, performance figures and the history of each truck.
The newer STILL Smart Portal adds Smart Analytics modules (Vehicle Utilisation, Battery Monitoring, AI Leasing Fit Analyzer and more) and Smart Energy (charging management), can manage mixed fleets from several manufacturers and offers APIs to connect other systems.

Choosing the right level of management
You do not need the full system from day one. The table below helps you pick a starting point:
| Level | Tools | What it solves | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | Digicode (PIN), key switch | Prevents unauthorised use of trucks | Small fleets, 1 shift |
| On-truck control | FleetManager 4.x: card/chip/PIN, impact detection, pre-shift check | Links every truck use to an operator, records impacts | Trucks shared by many operators, warehouses with frequent impacts |
| Fleet analytics | STILL neXXt fleet / Smart Analytics | Central view of operating hours, utilisation, costs and maintenance dates | Large, mixed fleets running 2–3 shifts |
| Energy management | Smart Energy, Battery Monitoring | Tracks state of charge, distributes charging power | Large electric fleets with limited charging infrastructure |
The energy side should be considered together with battery and charger options on our energy solutions page.
Using fleet data to optimise truck numbers and costs
- Right-size the fleet: compare operating hours and utilisation to reassign or remove surplus trucks; cover seasonal peaks with short-term forklift rental.
- Fewer impacts: know the truck, shift and operator involved, review the area and apply warehouse safety measures.
- Timely maintenance: schedules based on actual operating hours, used directly in maintenance & repair.
- Training the right people: operators with frequent impacts get refresher instruction through operator training.

STILL trucks that support fleet management
According to STILL documentation, the following ranges offer FleetManager 4.x or an interface to neXXt fleet:
- Electric pallet truck STILL EXH 16 – 20: several access control options, Smart Portal connectivity.
- Stackers STILL EXV-CB 06 – 16, EXV-SF 14 – 20, FXV 14 – 16: FleetManager 4.x.
- Reach truck STILL FM-X SE, order pickers STILL OPX 20 – 25 iGo neo and STILL EK-X, tow tractors STILL LTX 50 and LTX 70: operator management, impact detection, access control.
- Electric forklift STILL RXE 10 – 16C and the STILL RX 70 IC forklift: optional interface for STILL neXXt fleet integration.
- Electric forklift STILL SXV-CB 10: multiple users with different operating profiles.
Availability depends on model, year and configuration; for trucks already in use, a technician checks them before making a proposal.
How does TCID implement fleet management?
- Survey: we record your fleet, shifts, operators and priority issues.
- Proposed configuration: which trucks need FleetManager and which only need a PIN.
- Installation: operator permissions and alert thresholds for operating hours and utilisation.
- Instruction: warehouse managers learn to read reports; operators learn to log in and run the pre-shift check.
- Regular review: we adjust truck numbers, types and maintenance schedules with you.
TCID supports customers from its Hanoi office, Ho Chi Minh City office and the Long Binh Service Centre (Bien Hoa, Dong Nai).
Frequently asked questions
Can it be used on forklifts we already have?
It depends on model and year; a technician assesses whether retrofitting is possible. The Smart Portal can also manage other manufacturers’ trucks.
Does access control slow down work?
Swiping a card or entering a PIN is quick, and in return you know exactly who operates each truck.
Is fleet data secure?
STILL states that the Smart Portal is ISO 27001 certified; with neXXt fleet, data from the trucks is encrypted in transmission.
How is the implementation cost calculated?
It depends on the number and type of trucks and the functions chosen; TCID quotes after a survey.
