Forklift repair & maintenance

TCID's forklift repair and maintenance service for STILL trucks covers scheduled maintenance by operating hours, on-site repairs and service contracts for whole fleets – keeping trucks available and costs predictable.

When you need a structured maintenance and repair plan

A forklift that stops unexpectedly in mid-shift can leave an entire inbound or outbound flow waiting. Most major breakdowns start as small wear not caught in time: stretched lift chains, hydraulic leaks, worn brake pads. STILL’s principle is to care for trucks regularly and prevent failures before they happen.

A clear service plan makes sense when:

  • The fleet runs 2–3 shifts and downtime directly affects output.
  • Trucks work in dusty, hot and humid or cold-store environments, or on poor floors, where components wear faster.
  • The company runs mixed equipment (electric forklifts, diesel trucks, reach trucks, pallet trucks) and struggles to track every truck’s service schedule.
  • Finance needs to budget fleet operating costs for the year instead of handling each repair invoice as it comes.

Scheduled maintenance by operating hours

Intervals following manufacturer recommendations

Service intervals for STILL trucks are based on operating hours and working conditions, following STILL’s recommendations for each model. TCID technicians review shifts and the working environment, then propose a schedule for each truck. STILL has prepared maintenance packages for every vehicle type, so the scope of each visit is defined in advance.

Systems that are checked

At every service, technicians check the main groups: lead-acid or lithium-ion battery and charger, hydraulics, brakes, mast and lift chains, wheels, steering and electrical safety. Diesel and LPG trucks add the engine, fuel and cooling systems. The detailed checklist for electric and IC trucks, plus the tasks operators handle before each shift, is covered in our article forklift preventive maintenance checklist.

A report after every visit

After each visit you receive a condition report: work done, parts replaced, points to watch. This record helps with replacement decisions and when preparing for safety inspection under current regulations.

On-site forklift repair when a truck breaks down

Accidents, wear and tear or upgrading a truck for new tasks – the number-one priority is to get the truck working again as quickly as possible. TCID’s mobile technicians come to your site in the Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai areas and neighbouring provinces to repair on site. For major damage that needs parts ordered, TCID can discuss a replacement forklift rental during the repair.

Correct diagnosis before replacement

STILL has designed digitally supported repair procedures for every truck range, with tools such as STILL neXXt service diagnosis (reading truck data via Bluetooth for remote diagnosis) and STILL neXXt service navigator (fast search of service documents). Technicians find the real cause instead of replacing parts by trial and error.

The right parts

TCID uses genuine parts – STILL Original Parts, made to the same quality standards as the trucks. When you call for a repair, share the model, serial number and symptoms so the technician brings the right parts on the first visit.

Service contract levels

Following STILL’s model, contracts are designed around each customer’s needs – from simple repairs and regular servicing to full service for the entire fleet. The levels below are indicative; the exact scope is agreed after a survey.

Service level Main scope Best for
Repairs on demand Call when needed; quotation and repair per incident Small fleets, single shift, with staff doing daily checks
Scheduled maintenance contract Service schedule by operating hours, standard task packages per truck type, condition report after every visit Companies that want fewer breakdowns and planned downtime
Full service for the fleet Scheduled maintenance, repairs and parts within the agreed scope; one point of contact for the whole fleet Large fleets running 2–3 shifts that need predictable costs

A full-service contract keeps costs stable and easy to budget. Response times, parts coverage and other terms are set out in each contract.

STILL trucks are designed for easy servicing

Service costs also depend on truck design. Many STILL electric trucks use low-maintenance AC motors. For the STILL RX 60 3.5 – 5.0 t, STILL stresses that the truck is so easy to maintain that a technician’s visit becomes a quick pit stop. On the STILL RCE 25 – 35, the display shows the remaining running time and the next service date, so fleet managers do not miss a service.

For larger fleets, operating hours, impacts and service intervals are collected through a fleet management solution such as STILL FleetManager; the STILL neXXt fleet platform shows service, inspection and cost documentation in one place.

Long Binh Service Centre and how we work

Service in the south is coordinated from the Long Binh Service Centre in Bien Hoa, Dong Nai, close to major industrial parks; the north is supported through our Hanoi office. Our technicians are trained to STILL standards. The process:

  1. Receive the request; record model, serial number, operating hours.
  2. Survey the fleet: shifts, environment, charging habits.
  3. Propose a maintenance schedule and contract level.
  4. Carry out maintenance and on-site repairs with genuine parts.
  5. Send a report; remind you of the next service and inspection dates.
  6. Review periodically: which trucks are overloaded, which operators need refresher operator training to reduce impacts.

Frequently asked questions

Does TCID service STILL trucks bought from other sources?

Yes. A technician first checks the truck’s initial condition and records any issues to fix, then adds the truck to the scheduled maintenance plan.

How is the cost of a service contract calculated?

It depends on the number and type of trucks, operating hours, working environment and the chosen scope. TCID quotes after a survey; contact us for a specific proposal.

Does scheduled maintenance replace the safety inspection?

No. Maintenance keeps the truck in good working order; the inspection is carried out by a licensed inspection body under current regulations. TCID helps prepare the trucks, coordinates with the inspection body and fixes any non-conformities.
